When I was about a 1/4 mile from Fin's school to pick her up today, the skies opened up with pouring rain and marble sized hail. It wasn't completely unexpected as we were under a severe thunderstorm and a tornado warning and the sky was black, though hail is not common here. After the hail stopped and the rain lessened, I went into the cafeteria, the bad weather pick-up spot... no kids. Someone told me they were in the classrooms, so I walked down there to find that the kids had been ON THE PLAYGROUND when it hit.
