ONE GREAT VACATION!

We are back. We had a wonderful time. Truly, I don't think it could have gone better. I will work on getting a post/s and pictures up this weekend. For now, much needed sleep and cat cuddling.

Staring into the Future

Yesterday, Fin and I were invited to go to an Easter egg hunt with Debbie and Elizabeth. Fin racked up with the generous number of eggs they had strewn about and the nice prizes, snacks, and craft projects they set up for the kids. She really did have a blast.

I love the joy on their faces in this picture.

In the prior post, I showed you Fin's audition for Cold Stone. Here is Elizabeth's to become the face of Dairy Queen. That smile makes me want to buy some ice cream!

Then, today, I grabbed some clothes for Fin to wear to church because we were running late as usual. When we got to the car and I looked at her, she looked like a little lady. I took the picture below when we went to one of our favorite dives for brunch.

Yesterday was the Peter Pan collar horsie dress and lace socks. Today with her little shrug and sandals, she looked like she was taking clients out for an ironic lunch at the local diner. Kids are supposed to age slowly, not get their MBA and Volvo overnight!

Dreams

Today was career day at school. The kids could dress in college gear or as a profession. When I ask Fin what she wants to be when she grows up, she says, "horse". That is hard to costume. She did have fun, though I really am not sure what the PK and K kids were doing at career day. Although, I guess at almost 6, those lazy brats should get off their duffs and make some decisions about their futures! I have just one word for her. Plastics.

Ironic favorites. Dentist...

...and baker.

*******************************************

The weather was about 80 degrees and sunny today. That means the first spring trip to Cold Stone! She has the best and most varied expressions during her chocolate overload. C'mon Cold Stone, hire her! She'll work for gift cards!

Fin has a very active imagination. I think her dreams are pretty amazing, too. She dreams about catching cheetahs and growing a tail like a mermaid. This morning she woke up very early, at 5:00am. As I cuddled her, trying to get her to go back to sleep, there was a flock of birds chirping in a tree outside. She said, "What's that sound?" "Birds." I replied. "No," she countered, "That's the sound of dreams coming true."

Well. That's one to remember.

A Whole Mess O' Cute (revised)

It's time to play... what's the cutest animal in the zoo?

A. Meerkat

B. Fennec Fox

C. The rare Cheesy-Grinning Striped Fin

I didn't make it clear when I posted originally, this is a new topic in the post. I wasn't really pitting child against child. Flora's mom and I save that for when we get together. One playpen, one winner. Fin is faster, but Flora's low center of gravity makes her a contender.

And in the 11-month category, the winner in our hearts (even though her mommy is a neglectful blogger), FLORA!

(I can push my wagon and clap at the same time. How's that for talent?!)
